The range of indications of the SIC Bone Condenser includes conditioning of the implant site in the cancellous jaw bone in order to improve the primary stability of endosseous implants. Use of the bone condenser also enables gentle, manual preparation of the implant site when there is a reduced width of the alveolar ridge where implants are to be placed. Bone condensing optimally utilises the existing bone structure and conserves fragile, thin bone lamellae. The system is also suitable for performing the minimally invasive technique, “Summers lift”.

The Bone Condenser designed by Dr Weidmann was developed to condense the entire horizontal length of bone cavity walls for implants in cancellous bone. The new design of the radial flanks of the instrument attachments produces effective condensing with reduced force application. The patient experiences less discomfort and stress during surgery due to its atraumatic functioning principle. The Bone Condenser is used in ascending sequence until the required final diameter; the sizes, depth markings and colour coding correspond to the SIC implant systems. By carefully “tapping” the Bone Condenser the local bone is displaced apically and the bone is condensed minimally invasively in a radial direction using a slow,gentle clockwise rotation of approximately 90 degrees.
